For Nasasira Hope, the dream of pursuing an education seemed impossible until an academic scholarship from EWIDA, a program funded by GPFD, was able to advance her dreams forward. EWIDA, or Executive Women in Development Association, is a Community Based Organization (CBO) that works to fight poverty through girls education in Uganda.

This opportunity allowed Nasasira to achieve a diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health, become a licensed Medical Clinical Officer, and attain financial independence. But her dreams don't stop there. Nasasira hopes to continue her education and become an anesthetist to continue serving her community. "Education is the best empowerment for any little girl," says Nasasira. "I am grateful to Global Partners and EWIDA for supporting, loving, and uplifting me as a young girl."
