My WIP update continues. Earlier this year I made a baby quilt for Family V . Tums out the older silblings wanted one too . So I managed to make this very sweet hexie flower quilt which was finished just in time for it to be packed up to be hand delivered soon. There is one more that should be ready soon.

This hexie flower quilt of almost 1000 hexies were hand pieced with a running stitch (not EPP) , then machine quilted . The process was slow but a great scrap busting project.

This is the story of Anna my neighbourhood tailor. We struck up a conversation a couple of years ago and I asked her what happens to the fabric after she alters them for her clients . She said it just goes to the landfill. Then I showed her my passion and she said next time I’ll call you . I received bags of scrap thoughtfully wrapped up even the small one in my hand .

Unfortunately sometimes i can’t use some of the material she gives me so i thought i would donate to a fabric recycler but they only take “1 metre remnants “ which to me is crazy . So here you have my second 1 metre remnant in the making . The tiny scraps Anna gave me will be my meditation as i grow it back into something .
