So many fun memories with Pokey. He cared about so many and always went above and beyond.

It is with a heavy heart that we have been told Pokey The Clown “Doug Smith”passed away last night.
Many know him from the WRCA circuit as well as Route 66 Raceway in Amarillo.
Mr. Smith served in the Vietnam war.
He started raising money for charity in 1969 as Pokey The Clown.
He retired from the WRCA Rodeo ring in 2015 but became a fixture at the Route 66 track.
Mr. Smith will be missed by so many of us rodeo and race fans.
RIP sir thank you for all the memories, laughs, and talks over the years!
