In Quarter 2, two names kept coming up over and over again when it was time to nominate Employees of the Quarter, and honestly, that says everything you need to know about Emma and Shelly.

𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮 works in HR, though anyone at Interstate Bank will tell you her role stretches well beyond a title. She's the one who jumps in when the tellers are shorthanded downstairs, sticking around just to be available for signing checks or approving transactions. She patiently walks coworkers through paperwork issues, researches answers when she doesn't already know them, and somehow does all of this while still being the person whose smile changes the whole feel of a room. She's a devoted mother and an active part of the Perryton community, and the people who work alongside her say she made them feel welcome from the very first day.

𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆 brings a different kind of magic to the same mission. She's an asset to both offices, helping with CTRs, walking new accounts through tricky situations, doing CIP reviews for the loans team, but what people mention most is how she makes them feel. Coworkers say meeting her for the first time feels like you've known her for years, and that she'll take on any challenge handed to her without hesitation. One coworker put it simply: working alongside Shelly turned coming to work into something that feels like joy again.

Happy Birthday America!

Two hundred and fifty years. That's a long time for an idea to hold and yet here we are, still believing in the same promise that was scratched out on parchment by a group of people who had no guarantee it would work. The United States of America turns 250 today, and that's worth stopping to think on a moment before the fireworks start.

We're grateful to live here, to work here, and to serve this community in a country that makes room for the small town, the local bank, the family farm, and the dream that starts in someone's garage.

Happy 250th Birthday, America. May we never stop being worth the effort it took to build us.

Our Amarillo and Perryton teams are celebrating 250 years, and they're getting into the spirit. Matching shirts, big smiles, and a whole lot of pride in this country and the communities we call home.

Two hundred and fifty years of people showing up for each other, building things, and calling a place home. That's a story we get to be part of every day in our own communities.

To the dads who've been up since before sunrise because that's just what the day requires, who coach from the sidelines and fix what's broken and haul kids across the county and somehow always know when the truck needs an oil change. The grandfathers who show up the same way they always have, year after year, without being asked. The stepdads and father figures who chose this role with their whole chest and pour themselves into it every single day. You're our heroes!

You're the backbone of your families and your communities. Thank you for everything you do and everything you are. We hope your day is a good one. You've earned it.
