Music in the Gardens is happening today! 🎶🌿

Join us until 4pm for free live music surrounded by the beauty of the gardens. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, explore the grounds, and enjoy an afternoon of music for all ages.

While you’re here, stop by the Welcome Center & Curiosity Shop to pick up one of our fresh-cut flower arrangements. 🌼 Grown, harvested, and hand-arranged by our horticulture team, these one-of-a-kind bouquets are $12 (plus tax) while supplies last. We’re hoping to have fresh bouquets available during each Music in the Gardens this season!

Today’s lineup:
🎵 11am to 1pm • Music by BLISS (Outdoor Stage)
🎵 1pm to 2pm • Pride of Toledo Chorus (Virginia’s House)
🎵 2pm to 4pm • Quick Trio (Outdoor Stage)

We hope to see you this afternoon!

Every day, our volunteers help make 577 a welcoming place for the community. Some are caring for the gardens and honeybees. Some are greeting visitors. Others are helping behind the scenes with classes, the Curiosity Shop, office projects, pottery, and special events. No matter the role, each volunteer helps 577 thrive.

If you've been looking for a meaningful way to give back, meet new people, or share your time and talents, we'd love to welcome you to our volunteer community.

From storytime and sketching to bug hunting and book signing, Tuesday's Dr. Doodlebug event was filled with creativity, curiosity, and plenty of smiles! 🐜☺️🎨

A huge thank you to author and illustrator Merrill Rainey for spending Tuesday morning with us for Dr. Doodlebug's Storytime. Families enjoyed an interactive read-aloud of "On the Air with Dr. Doodlebug", learned to draw Dr. Doodlebug step by step, created their own nature journals, and headed outdoors to fill those pages with sketches and discoveries inspired by the gardens at 577.

Every registered child went home with their own copy of "On the Air with Dr. Doodlebug" to continue the adventure at home, and Merrill wrapped up the morning by answering questions and signing books for families.

There's still time to continue the adventure! This is the final weekend to enjoy "On the Air with Dr. Doodlebug" as our featured StoryWalk®. As you stroll the grounds, you'll follow Dr. Doodlebug's entertaining story while discovering the bugs, butterflies, and other tiny creatures that call 577 home.

A special thank you to the Walleye Wishing Well Fund of the Greater Toledo Community Foundation for supporting this program through a grant that helped fund this special event, along with new StoryWalk® books, updated signage, and the continued care of this beloved community program.

We'll be open Saturday (July 4) and Sunday (July 5), 9am to 5pm, so there's still time to stop by for one last walk with Dr. Doodlebug before a new StoryWalk® arrives!

Author and illustrator Merrill Rainey reads "On the Air with Dr. Doodlebug", teaches children how to draw the story's main character, answers questions, and signs books. Families create nature journals, color and sketch together indoors, then head outside to observe and draw plants, insects, and other discoveries throughout the gardens.
