PERRY, GA – In early September 2025, the Perry Police Department began receiving multiple reports from residents of Perry and Houston County whose checks had been stolen after being placed in the United States Postal Service (U.S.P.S) mail system through the Perry Post Office.
Through these efforts, detectives identified multiple suspects believed to be involved in a scheme involving stolen mail, check theft, and check fraud.
As a result of the investigation, warrants were secured for several individuals. Multiple suspects have since been taken into custody, while additional suspects remain outstanding and are actively being sought by law enforcement.
The Perry Police Department remains committed to investigating financial crimes and working collaboratively with local, state, and federal partners to protect the citizens of Perry and Houston County.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of individuals with outstanding warrants is encouraged to contact the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers, at 1-877-68crime.
