BREAKING: Dr. Oz Drops Bombshell: $300 Billion in Healthcare Fraud, Waste, and Abuse—Trump Admin Launches Historic Crackdown
In a powerful White House briefing today, CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz announced the largest anti-fraud initiative in the history of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This bold move under President Trump’s leadership targets the staggering $300 billion Americans lose every year to fraudulent, abusive, or wasteful spending in healthcare.
Dr. Oz laid it out plain: “We believe — listen carefully — we are spending $300 billion a year in healthcare in this country for fraudulent, abusive, or wasteful purposes. $300 billion.”
He connected the dots to everyday families: The average American family shells out about $27,000 annually on healthcare, paying $7,000 out-of-pocket while $20,000 more comes from taxpayers and premiums. “This is not a reasonable amount of money to spend,” Oz declared. “We have got to bend that curve downwards.”
Fraud makes an already unpredictable and burdensome system far worse. Oz tied the crackdown to President Trump’s State of the Union push for affordability and price transparency—tools that expose overcharges and help CMS spot scams faster.
Highlighting the stakes for America’s future, Oz explained: “If we could reduce fraud by 5% [of that $300 billion], we would take the trust fund that’s gonna take care of all of us as we get older and we would allow it not to expire in five to six years, we would double its life expectancy.”
This isn’t just about dollars—it’s about protecting lives, preserving shared values, and ensuring Medicare and Medicaid survive for generations. “You deserve that social safety net,” Oz stressed. “We’re not gonna let fraudsters steal it from you.”
He praised the stellar CMS team for their tireless work rooting out criminals and noted Vice President J.D. Vance’s appointment to lead the war on healthcare fraud: “Your passion for this will make a huge difference.”
Oz spoke from experience: “I’ve visited all these areas, personally witnessed what it’s like to see something you know is wrong and wonder why no one tried to fix it. It’s infuriating.”
The Trump administration is done with excuses. This historic effort—backed by data, AI, and zero tolerance—aims to crush fraud before it happens, safeguard taxpayer dollars, and deliver real relief to hardworking families. No more letting crooks raid the system while seniors and the vulnerable pay the price.
Time to end the theft. Drain the swamp in healthcare—starting now. 🇺🇸

I’m so thankful for a career that allows me to be flexible with life.
Most of you know we obtained custody of our nieces this past year, so going from empty nesters to parents of a 7&9 year old with all the things and DFCS and what we call drama/trauma; you can imagine as a mom being pulled in a million different directions every day. It was challenging at best. Then the birth of our first grandson. Life is WILD. My word of the year was and is “spicy” because life is spicy. Sometimes a good spice, sometimes a sweet spice and sometimes a light your world on fire spice.
First and for most God knew the seasons & storms we were going to face and he placed and prepared us for them. Part of that is this job. I left corporate after 21 years and became and entrepreneur in 2019. I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d be here but here I am. Nominee for Business Woman of the year with Perry Area Chamber of Commerce!!!
I’m SO thankful for my clients, my friends family and frankly everyone! I’m not the best but I definitely try my best and ALWAYS have my clients best interest at heart. So after a year where I felt like I couldn’t give my all to all the people and all the things, this nomination made this Gammy tear up and even more thankful.
Thank you! 😊
