And the wins keep rolling in for the Deep Run Thunderhawks. Our 8U squad dominated in Pennridge’s Father’s Day weekend tournament going 5-1. Congrats boys!

During July and August, players of all ages head over to Deep Run for a FUN pick-up game of baseball, quickball, stickball, or halfball. Younger ages (4-7) meet on Tuesday evenings for a parent-led game, and older ages (8-12+) meet on Mondays for a game format of their choice.

Summer Sandlot baseball and quickball is a tradition started in 2020 which we hope to continue into the future.

On April 3rd, 12 young men set their sights on making a run at the Suburban Travel League. This meant giving up the ability to have weekly practices due to a Friday and Sunday game schedule that would be played over the next 9 weeks.

The boys jumped out to a quick start on the season putting a few games in the win column on late chilly nights. As mid season started to come and go, the team battled against other undefeated teams only to continue having the wins start to pile up.

Going undefeated through the regular season started to possibly become a reality and before you know it DR 12U Blue was holding the number 1 spot out of 22 teams. 14-0 was an accomplishment in itself, but the thirst to bring the trophy home to DR again was way more important.

The team entered a weekend of playoff games beating Lower South 16-0 on Friday, beating Warrington 7-0 on Saturday and beating Pennsbury 5-2 on Sunday. Five days later and it was Championship Friday against Lenape Valley.

With nothing but determination in everyone's eyes, the boys took the field in the 1st and never looked back.

Putting runs on the board every inning with one goal in sight....to win! With the last pitch thrown, Deep Run 12U Blue took the Championship 12-0 and out scoring their opponents in the playoffs 40-2.

If the Championship in itself wasn't enough, what was even more amazing was the accomplishment of going 18-0 and being the first ever Deep Run 12U UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONS in the Suburban Travel League.
