๐ŸชกSuturing Strength with Readiness!

Officers and Hospital corpsmen from NMRTC Pensacola and Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC), participated in an in-depth, hands-on suture lab, April 30 . The lab included lectures and demonstrations on the best techniques and suture types for speed, wound location, and proper healing.
For providers in Navy Medicine, the act of suturing may not be a skill used everyday but is nonetheless important in the care of Sailors and Marines when in operational environments. Periodic labs such as these provide opportunities to learn, refresh, or improve these skills.

Led by experienced U.S. Navy medical providers from Naval Hospital Pensacola, and NMOTC's Department of Training, this skills based training is just one step of maintaining superior care for the warfighter.

Hooyah history!! For the this month's Sailor 360 training NMOTC's Pensacola Sailors were given a private tour of the Gulf Islands National Seashore ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ–-FortBarrancas. Sailors learned not just about history and tactics of the fort, but also how strategic control of the access points from the sea were employed in the past. The fort is a testament as to how the Army and Navy have worked in tandem to help keep our nation safe. A huge shout out to Park Ranger Meron for taking time to teach our staff about the amazing history of the fort and all of the important events which helped shape our national history right here in our own backyard.
