Matthew 5:13-15
“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.”
Be Salty – Stay Lit!
Jesus did not say try to become salt and light someday. He said that as followers, we ARE the Salt of the earth and the Light of the world. Salt preserves, adds flavor, and makes a difference wherever it is applied. In the same way, God has placed us in our homes, workplaces, churches, families and communities to influence others with His love and truth.
Light was never meant to be hidden. A lamp is placed where it can shine so others may see clearly. Christ calls us to live boldly, love generously, and reflect His character so that people are drawn to Him.
Today, don’t blend into the world around you. Season every conversation with grace, and let your life shine with kindness, integrity, and hope. Someone around you needs the salt and light of Christ that is within you.
Challenge: Ask God to show you one person you can add salt and light to encourage, serve, or point toward Jesus today.
Standing with you, Bob.

Matthew 5:11
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.”
Rejoice in the Opposition!
Jesus never promised His followers an easy road, but He did promise His blessing. When we stand for Christ, there may be times when others misunderstand, criticize, or even reject us. Our worth is not determined by the opinions of people but by our relationship with the Lord.
Don’t be discouraged when opposition comes because of your faith. God sees your heart and knows your faithfulness. Instead of responding with anger, answer with grace and continue walking in truth and love.
Challenge: If you face criticism today, don’t let it shake your faith. Stand firm, pray for those who oppose you, and let your life point others to Jesus.
Standing with you, Bob.

Matthew 5:7
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”
Mercy Changes Everything
Mercy is one of the clearest reflections of God’s heart. Every day, we receive mercy from the Lord, grace we don’t deserve, forgiveness for our failures, and patience for our shortcomings. Jesus teaches that those who have received mercy should also extend it to others.
Showing mercy doesn’t mean ignoring wrong behavior or pretending hurt doesn’t exist. It means choosing forgiveness over bitterness, compassion over judgment, and kindness over revenge. Mercy frees both the giver and the receiver.
Think about someone who has disappointed or hurt you. Ask God to help you see them through His eyes. The same mercy Christ has shown us is the mercy He calls us to share with others.
Challenge: Today, extend mercy to someone who doesn’t expect it. Offer forgiveness, patience, or a kind word, and let God’s love shine through you.
Standing with you, Bob
