Most watch straps are made to look good, not to perform, and the ocean exposes that fast.
BluShark straps are built for real use, real dives, real conditions, and they’ve proven that to me time and time again.
If you’re actually putting your watches to work, you already know why this matters.

Earth Day is April 22nd.
Growing up, it never meant much to me. Just another day on the calendar. No hype, no real thought behind it. That changed the moment I became a scuba diver.
There’s something different about being under the surface. You don’t just see the ocean… you feel it. You realize how alive it is, how fragile it is, and how much we take it for granted.
Earth Day isn’t just a date anymore. It’s a reminder. A moment to step back and recognize that we need to do better.
Overfishing. Bottom trawling destroying entire sea floors. Trash being dumped into our oceans like it doesn’t matter. It has to stop. Not just locally. Globally.
We all have a role in this.
Get involved. Volunteer. Donate. Do something.
When I dive, I bring a net bag with me to pick up trash. Every time I’m at the beach, I make it a point to leave it cleaner than I found it. Yeah, it pi**es me off seeing garbage left behind by people who don’t care. But I’m not going to be one of them.
I’ll keep doing my part.
The question is… what can YOU do?
Even something small matters. Your corner of the world counts. This Earth Day, raise awareness. Take action.
And shoutout to companies like Spinnaker teaming up with 4Ocean, creating watches from recycled ocean waste and turning it into something meaningful. That’s the kind of innovation and effort we need more of.
If the oceans die, we die.
Protect them. Respect them. Fight for them.

It's only Wednesday, but I think the Timex Weekender needs to be out and ready to chill!

Today’s wrist check is the Shipwrecked Watch Company Flagship 1718.
This one’s a cool piece from a small microbrand that’s doing things the right way. Inside is the reliable Miyota 8215 automatic movement, housed in a clean 40mm case with a sapphire crystal and five layers of anti-reflective coating. Simple, rugged, and built like a proper tool watch should be.
What really makes this one special is the fact that it’s limited to just 50 pieces. I love seeing small independent watch companies putting real thought into design and quality rather than just pumping out another cookie cutter diver.
Microbrands are one of the most exciting parts of the watch world right now. You get creativity, passion, and often incredible value for the money.
The Flagship 1718 definitely feels like a watch that punches well above its weight.
