As the height of our busy season starts to wrap, we want to send a huge THANK YOU to all of our divers. To those who showed us patience through rising costs, new marina management, new gear processes, and—most importantly—welcoming both new and familiar crew back onboard. We’re so incredibly grateful for you. We appreciate you trusting us with your safety (and entertainment.)

I want to make a special shoutout to Capt. Dougie, aka Capt Happy, Smiley, Needy (okay maybe that’s just my nickname for him) Doug Pacitti. Capt Doug stepped in to run this boat without hesitation—a role he was destined for since he first joined us as a deckhand back in 2006 (yes, he is in fact older than you think 😉).

All jokes aside, none of this season would have been possible without all of you, and our awesome crew: Dougie, Taylor(2), Isiah, and Evelyn. You guys didn’t just show up, you showed out, and crushed it.

This review from a seasoned diver (but new guest of ours) who has been eagerly waiting to dive the O for years. A trip that was a monumental occasion for him, and his sentiments capture this crew’s hard work and dedication perfectly. Beyond proud of this team.

Okay, OK, enough of the sappy stuff. Time to get ready for my favorite diving of the year—FALL DIVING! 🍂

The water’s still warm, visibility stretches farther than the eye can see (😉), and marine life is in abundance. Pair that with fewer tourists and off-season pricing, and it’s a win-win.

Let’s keep diving!

Just off the coast of Alabama lies a fantastic artificial reef that's quickly becoming a Gulf Coast favorite: the New Venture!
This 250-foot former research vessel was intentionally sunk in 2018, creating a vibrant underwater habitat and an exciting dive site. With its unique structure and strategic holes cut for diver access, the New Venture offers fantastic opportunities for exploration and photography.
Whether you're looking for abundant marine life or a fascinating wreck to navigate, the New Venture delivers. The top of the wheelhouse starts around 60 feet, with the wreck extending down to about 120-125 feet to the sand, making it a great dive for advanced open water divers looking to explore a deeper, yet accessible, wreck.
Join The H2O Below for a trip to discover the allure of the New Venture – an offshore adventure that's well worth the journey!
