Blue Mountain Community College
COME ONNNN DOWNNNN… to BMCC!
Did that get your attention? Good. That was the whole point.
Our Community Education team is rolling something onto the lot this summer: the Eastern Oregon Summer Institute in Marketing.
This one is for the small business owner trying to get more eyes on what they do. The local organization wanting to tell its story better. The creative who knows they have good ideas but needs a little more strategy behind them. The person who keeps saying, “I should really learn more about marketing.”
Well, here it is. Right here at BMCC.
No gimmicks. No inflatable tube man required (However, those do have a purpose!). Just practical marketing tools, fresh ideas, and a summer opportunity worth pulling over for.

Juneteenth is more than a date on the calendar. It is a reminder that freedom has a history, that progress has never been passive, and that reflection is part of how we continue moving forward together.
BMCC campuses will be closed Thursday, June 18, in observance of Juneteenth. Since campuses are already closed on Fridays during summer hours, we will resume regular summer hours on Monday, June 22.
Summer Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. | Fridays closed
It’s out!
Our mystery guest is Hailee Marty, and this final reel is the perfect little peek at why her episode is so fun.
Also, before we go any further, we do need to clarify something from the last reel to this one:
The IV needle moment and the arts-and-crafts needle moment are not the same kind of needlework.
Very different skill sets. Very different stress levels. Both somehow part of the same conversation.
That’s kind of the magic of this episode. One minute we’re talking about healthcare, the next we’re talking about crafts, cats, baking dreams, small-town roots, and all the little detours that make a story worth telling.

When we are little, we all have an answer to the question:
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
Some answers stick. Some change. Some turn into something completely different along the way.
And that is okay.
Because growing up is not always about becoming exactly who you imagined. Sometimes it is about finding a path that fits who you became.
This week, as we celebrate BMCC’s Class of 2026, we asked graduates what they wanted to be when they were younger, what they are graduating with now, and what they hope to do next.
Their answers remind us that every story takes shape in its own way.
To our graduates: whether this is the dream you always had or a new one you found along the way, you made it here.
Take it in.
You Made It. Take It In.
The moment is here. Let yourself feel it.
