46 years ago… What are your memories from when Mount Saint Helens erupted?
Forty-six years ago today, on May 18, 1980, Mount St. Helens erupted in one of the most powerful volcanic events in U.S. history. The blast forever changed the Pacific Northwest, flattening forests, reshaping the landscape, and reminding the world just how powerful nature can be.
Today, the mountain stands as both a symbol of destruction and incredible rebirth, drawing visitors from around the world to witness the scars and beauty left behind.
