The 126th in NJveg’s (NJveg) hiking/walking + vegan dining series was
our 5th annual July 4 hike at Whitesbog — although this year it was on
Sunday July 5. We snacked on blueberries along the trail, and some of
the hikers brought a bunch home! Afterward, we went for lunch at
vegan-friendly Tiga’s Artisan Pizzeria in Medford, followed by vegan
ice cream at Peewee’s Ice Cream (Peewee's Ice Cream ™️), also in Medford.

Join NJveg (NJveg) for a volunteer work day! We’ll be helping the vegan nonprofit sanctuary Layla’s Rescue Ranch (Layla’s Rescue Ranch) remove some bushes toxic to pigs, and more. We highly recommend bringing a water bottle, bug spray, sunblock, work gloves, work boots, and clothes that can get dirty. A vegan lunch will be provided. If you’d like to donate, you can do so at the sanctuary or online.

Space is limited, children 8+ accompanied by a parent welcome. Please sign up only if you are serious about attending and plan to attend for the full time. If anything comes up and you need to cancel, let us know ASAP, so that we may fill your spot. We’ve had a problem with last minute cancellations – don’t be that person! The address (in Pittsgrove) will be provided privately to volunteers before the event.

We need volunteers for future sanctuary work days. If you’re interested in joining NJveg’s volunteer team, please contact us at [email protected] or 609-557-7077 (text preferred).

NJveg (NJveg) had a volunteer work day, helping the vegan non-profit The Barnyard Sanctuary (The Barnyard Sanctuary in NJ) in Hope on Saturday June 6. We started painting Club PigMed, a village of houses for the resident potbellied pigs (look at the before and after photos!). If you’d like to donate, you can do so online. 📷 Lisa, Steve, and Yulia (photo enhanced by Jackie)
