We had a great time celebrating 260th birthday and George Washington dinner. Happy to see old friends and meet new ones.

For more than 20 years, Nayda gave herself wholeheartedly to Urban Health Plan, whether as a devoted volunteer or as a long-serving member of its board of directors. She embodied the spirit of service in every possible way. Food distribution? She was there. Health fairs? Always present. Diabetes Expo? Count her in. Whenever there was a need, Nayda answered without hesitation, joyfully and faithfully.

Nayda lived out what many of us understand as God’s calling: to feed the widows and the orphans, to care for those who are most vulnerable. She was good, she was kind, and she was loving. She loved salsa dancing, she loved to celebrate, and she loved people. She celebrated the mission of Urban, but more importantly, she celebrated every person in it. To Pauline and Jamine, she was a true ride or die—loyal, constant, and full of life.

Nayda was one of Urban Health Plan’s unsung heroes. Her legacy is woven into every health fair, every distribution, every gathering where she offered her hands and her heart. Today, our community mourns, but we also give thanks for her joy, her laughter, her dancing, her love, and her example of what it means to live a life of service.

We will miss her deeply, but we will carry her spirit forward in all that we do. Rest in peace, dear Nayda. You were truly one of a kind. We love you and will miss you.
