***What to Expect
• Multiple rounds of heavy rain Monday through Wednesday
• Rainfall rates of 2-4 inches per hour, with isolated rates approaching 5 inches per hour
• NOAA has placed much of the coastal region under a Moderate Risk (Level 3 of 4) for excessive rainfall and flash flooding each day
***Main Concerns
• Flash flooding of streets, neighborhoods, and low-lying areas
• Rapid rises on creeks, bayous, and rivers
• Dangerous driving conditions during heavier downpours
***Stay Prepared
• Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings
• Never drive through flooded roadways
• Monitor forecasts closely as rainfall totals and flood risks may increase
Widespread rainfall totals could approach 5-8 inches by Wednesday night, with isolated 10-12" possible!!
The flooding threat is expected to persist through at least Wednesday, with the highest concerns focused near the coast, including the Houston-Galveston area.

Galveston commuters will want to pack patience and consider different routes if your normal route floods easily. Heavy rainfall over the next couple of hours will strain drainage systems and street floodibg could occur quickly. Stay alert and be safe! Do not drive into high water.
