For senior living communities, the flu poses a serious threat to residents and staff due to older adults being at greater risk of complications. Here are the CDC's guides for long-term care facilities this year:
Annual Vaccination for All – Offer influenza vaccine to all residents and healthcare personnel each year; employees who refuse should complete a declination.
Preferential Vaccines for Seniors – Use high-dose, adjuvanted, or recombinant flu vaccines for residents 65+ for greater protection.
Active Surveillance & Early Testing – Monitor for influenza-like illness among staff, residents, and visitors; test symptomatic individuals promptly.
Infection Control Measures – Use droplet precautions, isolate or cohort ill residents, enforce hand hygiene, and restrict ill staff from working.
Antiviral Use & Chemoprophylaxis – Administer antivirals to confirmed cases, and consider prophylaxis for exposed residents during outbreaks.
Clear Sick-Leave Policies – Encourage staff with fever or symptoms to stay home until fully recovered, without penalty.
Make sure you and your staff are doing everything you can to protect resident and team health this season.

Today is National Daughters Day! We would like to honor the incredible daughters who are at the heart of so much of what we do in the healthcare world. In our work, we see firsthand the crucial role they play—as dedicated caregivers, compassionate advocates, and trusted partners in their loved ones' care.
To all the daughters navigating these complex roles, your strength and dedication are truly inspiring. Thank you for everything you do.

This Sunday, September 21st, is World Alzheimer’s Day—a time to raise awareness and show support for the millions of individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia.
At CoBridge, we see firsthand how senior living communities and care teams work tirelessly to provide dignity, safety, and compassion for residents facing memory loss. These efforts are vital as the need for memory care continues to grow alongside the aging population.
Let’s take this moment to honor the resilience of those living with Alzheimer’s, thank the caregivers who support them every day, and commit to advancing awareness and education. Together, we can continue to shine a light on this important cause. 💜

CoBridge recently traveled to Chicago for the inaugural ALIS by Medtelligent Conference, and it was an inspiring experience!
We joined industry leaders to celebrate 20 years of ALIS supporting senior living and learned about upcoming developments within the platform, including new clinical system enhancements and vendor partner integrations designed to improve care for residents.
Throughout the event, we connected with operators to better understand their clinical initiatives and discussed how CoBridge can help support teams as they implement ALIS and roll out new tools and processes. The blend of educational sessions, meaningful networking, and a memorable evening at the Chicago Cubs game made for a fantastic trip.
We left energized about the future of clinical systems in senior living—and excited about the role CoBridge can play in helping communities put these innovations into practice.

Third-party RN consultants play a vital role in helping senior living communities navigate the complexities of survey preparation and compliance. One of the greatest advantages they bring is an unbiased perspective. Internal teams often grow accustomed to day-to-day processes and may overlook areas of non-compliance. An external clinical expert can objectively assess operations, documentation, and care practices, offering a clear-eyed view of what surveyors will see.
In addition, RN consultants offer deep, up-to-date knowledge of federal and state regulations, which are constantly evolving. They ensure that your community’s policies and procedures are aligned with current standards, helping to prevent avoidable citations. When paired with mock surveys, this regulatory expertise gives leadership confidence and clarity in how to address deficiencies and strengthen systems.
Perhaps most importantly, third-party consultants equip your staff with the tools and training they need to succeed. From targeted education to real-time coaching, they empower teams to deliver high-quality care, improve documentation, and confidently engage with surveyors. For communities aiming to protect their reputation, elevate care, and maintain compliance, RN consultants are an essential partner.
