Safety Reminder from the Forest Service.

UPDATE 8/2/24: The SuperScoopers have been released from the Sand Stone Fire and are no longer working from Bartlett Lake.

Two multi-engine Superscoopers are using Bartlett Lake as a water source over the next couple of days. Recreationists using Bartlett Lake should keep their watercraft as close as possible to the shore if aircraft are working in the vicinity. Superscoopers will approach the lake at approximately 100mph and are unable to maneuver away from any boaters once they begin skimming the water. Please stay as close to the shore as possible and do not fly any drones in the area.

These aircraft will be operating during daylight hours over the next couple of days, primarily near and to the south of Bartlett Dam.

Hey all you Rim Runners out there. Our group run for tomorrow (July 31, 2024) will be from the store at 5:15 pm. The store is located at 807 S. Beeline Hwy Space A, Payson AZ 85541. We will be running from the store and doing the Bubba Run 5k course. Walkers, runners, everyone is welcome to join the last official Rim Runners group run. Not to fret, Honey Albrecht is creating a page, Mogollon Rim Runners. The weekly Wednesday group runs at 5:15 will continue with the occasional longer trail runs thrown in. Watch for it, and don't forget to register for the Bubba Run this Sunday!
