🔥 STAGE I FIRE RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT FRIDAY MAY 15, 2026 AT 8 A.M🔥

The Town of Payson is currently under Stage I Fire Restrictions due to elevated fire hazard conditions.

Effective May 1st through October 1st, the Payson Fire Department will no longer be issuing burn permits during fire season.

Please use extreme caution and help us protect our community by following all fire restriction guidelines.

🚫 The following are prohibited within the Town of Payson:
• Open burning and recreational fires
• Smoking within 5 feet of combustible materials
• Welding, cutting, and grinding without a permit
• Fireworks without a permit

✅ Allowed activities include:
• Portable outdoor fireplaces used safely and at least 15 feet from structures or combustible materials
• Charcoal, wood, pellet, or propane BBQ cooking devices used safely and with proper clearance
• UL-certified petroleum-fueled or electric cooking/heating devices
• Gas-fueled machinery equipped with approved spark arresters and operated in cleared areas

We appreciate everyone doing their part to help reduce wildfire risk and keep Payson safe. Please stay alert, stay safe, and report any signs of smoke or fire immediately by calling 911.
