WHOOOOOOOOO ARE YOU?!? WHO WHO WHO WHO?!?

On the morning of Friday, June 26, dispatch received a 911 call from a residence, but the caller was not on the line. We get these calls a lot. Usually it’s a misdial….but we check on ALL of them.

In this case, Officer Jeremy Wakeman responded to the address and spoke with the caller about her hoot of a problem. The elderly caller stated that an intruder had somehow fallen down her chimney was trapped in her fireplace.

Officer at the Pasco Police Department received over a ton of training dealing with all kinds of situations, this scenario has not been brought up.

Officer Wakeman contacted experts at Blue Mountain Wildlife for consultation. They advised that they could not respond to the scene but they gave him sound advice on the capture and care of the animal.

A local neighbor, Braden, wanted to also lend a helping hand. After receiving instructions from Blue Mountain, Officer Wakeman used a towel to cover the bird and successfully grabbed the critter without causing any injury. The juvenile owl was the released back into the wild without incident. It was quite a hoot to see the owl fly off.
