Help Us Find Homes for Our Remaining Clearwater Bay Cats

Many of you remember the cats that came to us from the Clearwater Bay Apartments. While we are excited that several have found loving homes, we still have 8 adults cats looking for the right fit.

Because of their past circumstances and limited socialization, these cats aren't suited for traditional homes. Shelter and traditional home life is stressful for them, and they'd be much happier living as barn or shop cats with minimal human interaction.

We're looking for barns, shops, wineries, or similar properties that can provide food, water, and shelter while allowing these cats to live independently.

All 8 cats are:
🐾 Spayed/neutered
🐾 Microchipped
🐾 Up to date on vaccines

If you have the perfect place for one of these cats, or know someone who does, please contact Tri-Cities Animal Services. A share could make all the difference in helping them find the homes they will be most happy with.

**PUBLIC NOTICE – INJURED DOG AT COLUMBIA PARK**

Animal Control officers are actively working to safely trap a black dog with an apparent broken leg that has been roaming Columbia Park in Kennewick.

To give our officers the best chance of safely capturing this dog, we need the community's help:

**Please DO NOT feed the dog.** While we know people want to help, feeding the dog encourages it to keep moving around the area and makes it much more difficult for Animal Control to safely trap it.

**Please DO NOT chase or approach the dog.** Chasing the dog can cause it to run, increasing the risk of new injuries or further injury to its already broken leg and making capture even more difficult.

If you see the dog, please give it space and report its location to Animal Control immediately. The sooner we can safely capture this dog, the sooner it can receive the veterinary care it urgently needs.

Thank you for helping us give this injured dog the best chance at a safe rescue.

Fireworks can be exciting for people, but they can be frightening for pets. Every year, more pets go missing during the Fourth of July holiday than almost any other time of year.

Before the fireworks begin:
• Make sure your pet is microchipped and that the registration information is up to date.
• Put a collar on your pet with an ID tag that includes your current contact information.
• Create a safe, comfortable space indoors with the curtains closed, a favorite bed or blanket, and a TV or radio playing to help mask the sound of fireworks.
• Keep pets safely away from fireworks at all times.

Our Animal Control Officers will be working throughout the holiday weekend to help reunite lost pets with their families, but a little preparation now can make all the difference.

If your pet does go missing, report them through the Lost & Found Pet Map on the Tri-Cities Animal Services website: https://www.tricitiesanimalservices.com/lost-found

The right dog isn't always the easiest dog.

Sometimes the best match is the dog that takes a little extra understanding, a little extra patience, and a person willing to see their potential.

Today we're featuring Rex, River, and Niko.

These boys have been waiting for adopters who appreciate them for exactly who they are. If you've been looking for a loyal companion and are open to building a meaningful bond, we encourage you to read their profiles in the photo captions.

Their perfect match may be reading this right now!

For the most up to date information on our current adoptable animals please give us a call, send us an email, or stop by Tuesday - Saturday 10am to 5pm to meet your new best friend!

You may remember the Clearwater Bay Apartments case.

The one that began with a kitten found tied up inside a bag.

The one that led our Animal Control Officers to a horrific discovery and the rescue of over a dozen surviving cats.

These are some of those cats.

Weeks have passed since they arrived.

They've been spayed and neutered. They've received veterinary care. They've had regular meals, clean beds, and a safe place to sleep.

For some of them, those things may have been entirely new.

Yet not one has gone home.

Maybe that's because their trauma isn't loud.

It's the cat hiding in the corner.

The cat that watches before approaching.

The cat that wants to trust but isn't quite sure how yet.

The cat that gets overlooked while bolder, more confident cats find families.

These cats need someone willing to see past where they came from and focus on where they could go.

Please share. Their person may not know they're looking for them yet.

Video description: Compilation of adult cats rescued from the Clearwater Bay Apartments case. The video shows several cats in kennel environments, including resting in their enclosures, observing their surroundings, and interacting cautiously with shelter staff. Some cats remain shy and reserved while others show mild curiosity. These cats are currently available for adoption through Tri-Cities Animal Services and are continuing to decompress while waiting for placement in new homes.
