Which one is better?
As a raid attacker, Mega Mewtwo Y has a higher attack stat and will do more damage, but they are both extremely powerful.

⚠️ Reminder: You must have a Mega Evolved Pokémon in your party to break through shields!

Mewtwo caught in-person or remotely during this week may have a special background.

All Mewtwo caught this weekend will have at least one Mega Level unlocked, and rarely, some may have two or three unlocked!

All the raids from the Road of Legends return over the two days, rotating on a three-hour schedule with the habitats. These can all have a special background.

Use this on hundos or high IVs that you want to power up or on shinies that you might want to trade.

This is the first time we've been able to use elite TMs to do this, so take advantage while you can.

Shiny Gimmighoul is BACK in Pokémon GO for almost all of July, 2026. Here's how you can get it!

Shiny Gimmighoul and Gimmighoul with the 10th Anniversary Coin will be active from Saturday, July 4, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, July 31, at 11:59 p.m. local time.

To spawn Gimmighoul, you must activate the Coin Bag, an item that functions like an incense but spawns only Gimmighoul.

To get the coin bag, you must send a post card to Scarlet & Violet on the Nintendo Switch. You can do this with any Switch any number of times. It does not need to be your Switch. Ask your in local Campfire group, chances are someone will be happy to bring their Switch to a meetup!

The pairing happens over Bluetooth, you DO NOT need Wi-Fi.

Do this for 5 days to get a Golden Lure Module. You can only hold one Golden Lure Module at a time.

Collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins to evolve into Gholdengo. Only normal Gimmighoul can evolve. Costumed Gimmighoul ❌️ CANNOT evolve.

Thu, Jul 9 — Crowned Zacian, Crowned Zamazenta + Mega Gengar

There are two hours of raid hours each day. 5★ Raid Hour 6-7 pm and Mega/Primal from 7-8pm. Monday is two hours of 5★ raids.

Pokémon caught from five-star raids, Primal Raids, and Mega Raid Battles between July 6 and July 12, may also have a Special Background.

This week's Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour is Pidgey!

This Spotlight Hour is not a must-play event, but if you are grinding XP it's still worth it to pop a couple Lucky Eggs and evolve for an hour.

Reminder that Pidgey is a cheap evolution and this is a great way to stock up on Pidgey Candy.

Mega Lucario is returning to Pokémon GO Raids, and it is a Fighting-type powerhouse.

🗓️ July 12 (GO Fest Global)

A powered-up Mega Lucario is something every Pokémon GO trainer should aim for. It does huge damage in raids right now and will be even more powerful when Mega Lucario Z eventually gets released.

If you've already got one, it might still be worth doing a couple on July 12th because it will be eligible for a special background during GO Fest.

The Kanto Birds, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are back in raids in Pokémon GO.

🗓️ July 1 - 6, 11, 13-14

These three legendaries will be in raids exclusively from July 1 through 5, as well as the 13th and 14th. They are also in raids on the 6th with a bunch of other raid bosses for the first day of Road to Legends. And they're in raids again on Saturday, the 11th, which is the first day of GO Fest Global.

None of these are meta-relevant, so if you're prioritizing your raid passes, I would only raid these on the 6th or the 11th because they can have special backgrounds on those days.

They will also be featured in a raid hour on Wednesday, July 1st, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
