I joined Congressman Brad Sherman, Representative Laura Friedman, Congressman Jim Costa, and ANCA to demand justice 1,000 days since Armenian prisoners of war and civilian hostages were unlawfully detained by Azerbaijan.

At least 19 Armenians remain under Azerbaijan’s custody, where they are subjected to abuse, torture, and are being denied their most basic rights.

We must raise our voices for those who cannot speak freely for themselves. I will not stop speaking out until every person is released and all Armenians can live in peace, security and dignity.

This week, Senator Adam Schiff, and I led our Democratic colleagues in reintroducing the American Rescuers of the Holocaust Congressional Gold Medal Act, to honor the legacy of the heroes who risked their own lives to save thousands of Jews and other refugees facing near-certain death.

In the face of rising antisemitism and bigotry around the world, we must ensure the lessons of the past are never forgotten.
