For These South Orange Rescue Squad Volunteers, There's No Retirement From Helping Others - The Village Green 03/25/2026

đźš‘ To my maturing, but not dead yet Boomer and Gen X collegues and friends. You can do this!

I have never felt any limitations whatsoever with anything I’ve done due to my age. In fact, I believe I’m a better trial lawyer, EMT, national TV analyst, and pretty much everything that I can think of because of my vast life’s experiences. Yeah, I’m not as flexible and spry as I used to be.

🚨 But, I’d much rather have greater wisdom than those physical attributes that get creaky as you age. 🚨

I genuinely believe this is a state of mind thing. There is an ethos that people who are getting older should somehow act a certain way. Honestly, these thoughts don’t even cross my mind.

My entire life I’ve disregarded the many negative voices telling me why I can’t, or shouldn’t, do something. I’m proud that I listened to my own voice and overcame! 👏

In the end, those negative thinkers will not be there. I will only face my mortality, (and what I did with my life,)accountable to only me, not them.

I admit it’s kind of strange for me to believe that I started being EMT as the youngest kid at the South Orange Volunteer Rescue Squad , and now I am one of the elders! What a full circle life thing!

I am posting this article as a testament to anyone who is a Boomer or Gen X not to let anyone tell them what their limitations are.

If I had to say there is one thing as EMT that I onserve that is depressing it is people that have fallen into the trap of thinking that there is nothing for them to do in their advanced years. It not only robs them of the meaning of their life, it literally robs them of life itself. 🪦

I’m grateful for the article, because I think it illustrates that if you’re wondering what to do as you age, just get out there in the service of other people and everything’s gonna be all right!

I hope you enjoy the article! Have a great day, Bob

‼️ 30 years ago today, I began my first day as a private criminal defense attorney.

On this day in 1996, I walked into the law firm of Bianchi & Bianchi to begin practicing law with my father after serving 7 years as an Assistant Prosecutor in office.

Those 7 years as an assistant prosecutor were extraordinary. I went from being a fledgling trial lawyer fresh out of law school to becoming a New Jersey Supreme Court Certified Criminal Trial Attorney, trying every kind of case imaginable—from drug cases to numerous murder cases, including a famous death penalty trial.

I remain deeply grateful for those years of intense courtroom experience!

What followed were 12 incredible years practicing law alongside my father, learning lessons about trial work, integrity, and life that I carry with me to this day.

After those years in private practice, I had the honor of being appointed by the Governor of the State of New Jersey to serve as the

I’ve been truly blessed to have this career—and I continue to be grateful every day as a partner at .criminal.defense The Bianchi Law Group with my outstanding law partner

Thirty years later, the gratitude is still the same, even more.

To everyone who has been part of this journey—clients, colleagues, mentors, and friends—thank you.
