Why I Stopped Posting.

You may have noticed it’s been a little quiet here lately. Truth is—this year has been one of the hardest. From major shifts in insurance reimbursements to unexpected personal challenges, life has forced me to slow down in ways I didn’t anticipate.

Running a business while mothering, advocating, and navigating new diagnoses (for myself and my child) has tested every limit. Some days, the scales tipped so far they nearly toppled. And still—we’re here.

We’ve had to make tough decisions, but one thing we haven’t compromised is the quality and accessibility of care we provide. That remains at the heart of everything.

If you’ve emailed, called, or reached out in recent weeks—thank you for your patience. I’m working through it, one message at a time.

To every parent out there struggling to juggle it all: I see you. We’re proud to be part of your village—and grateful to have you in ours.

Who gets to breastfeed — and who’s left behind?

🛑 Insecure employment
🛑 Racism in healthcare
🛑 Inflexible workplaces
🛑 No access to paid leave

These are not personal problems. They are structural barriers and they disproportionately affect BIPOC, low-wage, and marginalized communities.

🤱🏽 Enabling breastfeeding means removing these barriers.

At BestLatch, we’re not just talking about equity — we’re acting on it:
✅ Sliding scale services for Medicaid and underinsured clients + we have a fund on our website that people can donate and its used to provide free services to those in need.
✅ Back-to-work lactation consults (and yes, we can write letters citing the PUMP Act and all the evidence you need, to help parents request legally protected workplace accommodations)
✅ Advocacy for systemic change — because individual support is not enough without policy reform. We are actively working towards advocacy efforts in getting lactation care covered by medicaid & other insurers
