Last week, a member of the Pleasant Valley PTA asked three excellent questions after my brief presentation about Issue 73 to them. The members explained after I answered that we should publicize the responses as they may not be well known in the community.

Q: Will the Parma Senior High Educational and Wellness Center charge residents a fee for use?

A: The PSH recreational facilities (gym, walking track, pool) will be open during school hours (8-330) for residents to use without paying a fee. Further availability will be determined by the time we open our new campuses.

Q: What is Phase II?

A: In our 2019 Strategic Consolidation meetings, community participation overwhelmingly favored starting new construction with our secondary campuses. Phase II, new construction of elementary schools will require a second bond issue, currently projected at less than two mills.

Q: Will there be administrative cuts as you consolidate secondary schools?

A: Yes, we will reduce the number of administrators we currently employ. This reduction is part of the more than $1 million in operating expenses we project upon opening our new secondary campuses.
