✨9 months✨

Loves: Clapping, singing, dancing, standing on her own, taking steps, learning how to say new sounds weekly, screaming, being shy around new people, fake laughing when adults laugh so that she’s not left out, running when we hold on to her hands, and being chased

Doesn’t like: Sleeping, still not having teeth, snuggling, having to be inside with all this wind and snow, when Friday doesn’t let her pet her, when food is taking too long to get the her tray, and having to wait for ANYTHING

Ps. Hunter is still her favorite person and she wouldn’t even look at me for these photos because Hunter was outside too😭

Not sure if you all experienced some serious snow this week but we certainly have! 38 inches with 3-5 more coming tomorrow night🫠 Here are my top tips for handling horses in the winter

❄️ WATER!! Not just snow or ice but making sure your horses have water is incredibly important for keeping your horses warm, healthy, and alive

❄️ Colic is a big deal in the horse world and it always seems that horses colic at the most inconvenient times. There is a reason for that! Horses digestive systems are designed to be digesting 24/7. And horses are designed to be moving close to 24/7. So during a storm when horses are standing and don’t have access to grass or hay or even just movement they tend to colic easier. Add electrolytes to their feed to encourage drinking and feed hay a little more frequently. If you have a horse you are really concerned about you can add a probiotic or chia seeds to their feed to help as well.

❄️ When horses are standing they tend to get bored and do stupid things causing injury themselves or damage to their area. Checking on your horses more frequently than you would during nice weather is a good idea to hopefully catch things before they turn into a vet call in a blizzard. You can also provide a jolly ball or snack contraptions to entertain your horses and hopefully keep them out of trouble

✨6 months of front porch sittin✨

Loves: Food! Even avocado😉, responding to her name, talking, being the center of attention, squealing ALL THE TIME, working on standing, spitting, watching the world out the window, bossing Friday, and Daddy♥️

Doesn’t like: The cold, that she can’t crawl yet, going to bed when mom and dad are still up, cuddling, being wiped down after eating, and spending a whole day away from home.
