Hello CCSMD No. 1 Residents,

The 5:00 hour started out a “little rough” last night weather-wise for food trucks but as soon as it turned around, you didn’t disappoint nor did the food! Thank you all for coming out and making FOOD TRUCK WEDNESDAY a huge success.

What an amazing time we had on July 4th. We’d love to add your pictures from the event to our display board in the center. Please email photos to [email protected] and we’ll include as many as possible… the more the merrier!!

Youth Nite for all 6th-8th graders (this excludes those going into 9th grade) is Friday, June 17th from 6:30-8:30 pm. RSVP is required by Wednesday, June 15th, and we must have at least 15 signups to make the event happen. Call 303-840-1241 or stop by the Rec to sign up. The cost is $7 (credit card only) and each resident is allowed to bring up to 2 non-resident friends for the same price. Cost includes pizza, snacks, drinks and prizes. If your child/children isn’t being picked up at 8:30pm by you and you are allowing them to leave the Rec unsupervised, please send a note with their name(s) stating you’ve approved of this. Hope to see all the new “to be” 6th-8th graders then.

Disappointed to say someone got into the newly repaired and painted tennis/pickleball courts and set off some fireworks. Black stains on the new surface. This is YOUR community; we do our best to assist to keep it nice. Please be considerate and proud of where you live.

Hope to see you at the Rec,

MaryBeth, Katie, and Staff

STAGE 1 Fire Restrictions Are Currently In Place With NO Open Burning & NO Fireworks. - Douglas County Sheriff's Office 06/29/2026

From the Douglas County Sheriff Department:

🔥EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: Due to increased fire danger, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are now in place across unincorporated Douglas County, including the City of Castle Pines and the Town of Larkspur, until further notice.

We understand America's 250th birthday is a special occasion to celebrate with loved ones in a major way, but with the current extremely severe fire danger we face, the safety and lives of our community is top of mind right now. Our experts considered the risks: the lack of moisture we have, wind possibilities, and lack of state resources available as firefighters courageously work to suppress a number of fires in our state this week, when making the ultimate decision to implement stage one fire restrictions. We ask you celebrate Independence Day safely with your loved ones this weekend, keeping in mind the following:

🚫 What’s Prohibited:
-Open burning of any kind
-Use of personal fireworks 🧨
-Use of model rockets
