As we roll into the busy holiday season, we hope you'll carve out some time to brush up on your avalanche skills.

Join us for our first State of the Season on 12/10 at in Palmer to hear the latest from HPAC forecasters (and pizza - did we mention pizza? ).

Our annual companion rescue workshop is on Saturday, 12/13 at the Fishhook Lot in Hatcher Pass. We'll break into groups based on mode of travel and experienced level, and provide opportunities for every attendee to practice their skills. All winter enthusiasts are welcome regardless of prior avalanche training experience!

Get involved! Join the Mat-Su Borough for a public open house to learn about the Government Peak Recreation Area (GPRA) Plan Update!

🌲The Mat-Su Borough is updating the development plan for GPRA. The plan update will help shape the future of this beloved area.

🤔Why update? The current plan, created in 2017, guided GPRA’s initial years of development. Now, with increased use and evolving needs, we’re creating a more comprehensive plan to ensure GPRA continues to serve the community for years to come.
