Soooo…I am putting on my happy face/determined face, having some news to share…
I have been dealing with some health issues for the past couple of months, when I noticed I had become jaundiced. After emergency lab work, I had a stent put in by my pancreas to open things up. Thing is, they also found a small mass.
They did an Endoscopy with two biopsies. Good news, both came back negative (good news), but they wanted me to get a second endoscopy. So I did, and while that was also negative, it was still concerning, because the growth shouldn’t be there. There were no signs of any other tumors or lymph nodes affected. I needed a PET Scan - I had radioactive sugar injected in me to see what was affected, if anything had spread.
Just the same area, between the pancreas and liver. Still not 100% sure of it is cancer. But in talking to the oncologist and surgeon, it’s best to get that growth out now before it becomes something incurable. If they had to put a number on it, it’s a 90% chance the growth is cancerous. So now, we have a plan - surgery and possible chemo.
I was told of the risks. My goal is to come out of this better than ever. I still have things to accomplish, great things to see and experience. I’d like to think I will come out of this new and improved. I appreciate the love and prayers to those that have sent it my way. I love you all.
