This Mediterranean-inspired landscape design seamlessly blends timeless elegance with contemporary outdoor living. Strategically curated tile accents for the fire feature, outdoor grill, and open-air shower create a dynamic yet tranquil haven while unifying the original 1930s bungalow with its newly added Casita. Climate-adapted Mediterranean and desert plantings frame the pergola and pool, providing year-round interest and harmonizing with the hardscape elements. Rooted in history, this Spanish Revival home—once the longtime residence of architect James Cioffi—now stands as a stunning fusion of past and present in the Tahquitz River Estates neighborhood.

From concept to actualization, this narrow garden space was designed to maximize visual impact from the interior rooms of this residence that look out on to this poolside courtyard.
