HopeAlive268 was honored to attend the National Gender-Based Violence Symposium hosted by the Royal Eswatini Police Service. This important gathering addressed the urgent need to end violence in our communities, including violence against children. As an organization committed to protecting children in crisis, we stand with all partners working to build safe environments where every child can grow free from fear and harm.

Today at HopeAlive268, our Saturday tutoring was about more than academics. Alongside supporting students in their studies, we also spoke with them about su***de prevention, knowledge that may one day help them personally, or equip them to support someone else who is struggling.

Our program is not only about scholastic outcomes, but also about mental well‑being and preparing young people for whatever life may bring. Siboniso did a great job teaching about su***de awareness and prevention, reminding everyone that their lives matter, as well as the lives of those around them.

We are thankful to the Jerome family (former missionaries to Swaziland) for visiting HopeAlive268 and accompanying us to a local primary school, where we shared with the children an important lesson on reporting abuse.

The Jerome family also blessed our office with books, candies, and fidget toys (to be used in trauma boxes), resources that will help us continue supporting children in need.

One child, enjoying the bubble gum, exclaimed with delight: “Yoh, this chappies is very big and very nice!”
