Here's a short video we made showing how to identify the type and size of water main in your home. In addition to good water pressure, a properly sized inlet pipe that allows for sufficient water flow is important for optimum pumping. You want to connect Water Commander™ pumps to at least 3/4" water line going all the way back to the main.

Jeff in Waukesha, WI just had a Water Commander model MG36 installed before today's storm hit. Several turns in the suction pipe allow it to be mounted vertically on the wall near the sump. And the 1" copper water line provides unrestricted water flow to maximize pumping.
