If you’re free tonight, the California Academy of Sciences NightLife event is a really fun holiday outing. It runs from 6–10 p.m. and is a ticketed, 21+ evening. Lots of local vendors will be there too, so it’s a great chance to discover new artists and do a little holiday shopping.

The newest linocut print in my portfolio: a tiny tidepool in classic blue and white.

The circular shape reminds me of traditional blue-and-white china — white porcelain brushed with delft blue. My childhood home was filled with Royal Copenhagen pieces, so this palette feels like a little nod to those memories.

There’s something comforting about blue and white artwork — it appears across so many cultures, from Delftware to Chinese porcelain to the dishes many of us grew up with. It’s a color pairing that feels timeless, calm, and nostalgic.
