I planted some new to me things this year to experiment and see what does well and what new tastes and flavors we can add.

Well friends, the Mexican Sour Gherkin will be grown again! They took a bit to take off but are in full production mode. They taste like their name.

Have you planted anything new to you?

The beautiful and fragrant Southern Magnolia (Magnolia Grandiflora)

I did some initial research for herbal support on this magnificent tree when I was looking for something which may support a case of Malaria back in 2023.

The magnolia has been used in traditional medicine for various health benefits including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties.

Local tribes and TCM has also made use of it for anxiety and stress reduction, improved sleep, gastrointestinal support, potential weight loss aid, heart health, and liver protection.

Above all, it's beautiful year round, smells amazing when in bloom, the seeds make a great snack roasted, and the flowers are fantastic fried!
