I was forced to file a variance by santarosa county stating semis aren't allowed in storage facilities and they cited new land development code that was revised in 2023 we opened in 2021 under old ldc and I was unaware of restricted items to be stored i have a few semis that park in my facility on the weekends or have sat stored in a space they moved in when I opened 5 1/2 years ago they are long term customers with leases santarosa county told me to get a variance for them to stay or kick them out these customers have leases and rights its not right to mess with them to no fault of their own now santa rosa county has come up with a packet to give zoning board members misconstrued to make it look like im trying to add more semi parking thats far from the truth my request is to allow only these current long time local trucker customers to keep their spaces and be left alone not what santarosa county is insinuating.
another problem with this matter is the engineer for santarosa county lives across the street they bought their home from me. during my last variance this person got up while on official business on October 9th 2025 and spoke in opposition talking about semi traffic which was unrelated to the variance this person as an official has been meddling in this variance im guessing for personal gain should be conflict of interest and kept out of it atleast in a official capacity. these truckers have not caused any concerns has not caused traffic problems their not loud when coming or leaving they dont sit and idle there local men and women a couple are veterans just trying to have a safe secure and consistent place to park when they come home on the weekends to their families after working on the road all week traveling from coast to coast delivering the items we buy and use every day this is wrong and not only me but these truckers could use the communities support please show up and speak your support im a small business owner cornered and fighting for my customers.
