Happy Birthday to the one and only Prince.

Born June 7, 1958, Prince Rogers Nelson wasn’t just a musician—he was a force of nature.

I’ve had the privilege of seeing Prince live well over a dozen times, and my very first Prince concert was the legendary 1999 Tour. Once you saw Prince perform live, you understood exactly why he was my favorite artist. His command of the stage, his musicianship, his energy, and his ability to connect with an audience were simply on another level.

Now don’t get me wrong—I’ve also had the pleasure of seeing Michael Jackson live, and Michael will always be one of my all-time favorites. But when it came to Prince and Michael, there was never a comparison for me. Not because one was better than the other, but because they were operating on two completely different planets. They were both geniuses who changed music forever in their own unique ways.

Prince taught us that there were no boundaries in music. Funk, rock, soul, R&B, pop, jazz—he could do it all, and he did it while staying unapologetically himself.

Thank you for the music, the memories, and the inspiration. Your catalog, your artistry, and your influence continue to inspire generations of musicians and fans around the world.

Happy Birthday, Prince. Your legacy lives on, and your music will forever be part of the soundtrack of my life.
