Our team is proud to celebrate Cultural and Community Services Director Terrel Harrison, who was honored for his leadership and innovation with a signed boxing glove from Hall of Fame legend Sugar Ray Leonard at the National PAL Conference.

As former National PAL CEO Chris Hill shared:
“Over the past two years, Terrel and his team have successfully restored National PAL Boxing to the prominence it once enjoyed prior to COVID‑19. Through his dedication, vision, and relentless effort, the tournament was revitalized and reestablished as one of the premier events in youth amateur boxing worldwide.”

Under Terrel’s direction, the tournament didn’t just return — it evolved. What was once a national event is now an International Tournament, welcoming more than 1,000 boxers from 13 countries last year.

Terrel also expanded athlete care by bringing on‑site mental health professionals to support boxers and coaches throughout the week, ensuring their well‑being both in and out of the ring.

Congratulations, Terrel — your leadership continues to elevate youth boxing and strengthen the Oxnard community.
