Clones!!! You guys ask me all the time how I start the babies. Here you go! Once you actually have your clones set up in their dome you’ll gradually vent them day by day to dry down. Once all of the cubes are dry, I use a half strength fertilizer and water them. Usually in a day or two after that, I see roots all over the outside of the cubes and it’s time to plant. This whole process takes anywhere from 3 to 7 days.
This week at work has been all about getting last year’s plants ready for spring. We overwinter perennials in hoop houses, so that plants go through the cold, but don’t freeze their root balls and die. In spring all of the old growth on top has to chopped off to allow new growth to begin. Sometimes it’s hard because you’re looking at these green leaves and they look perfectly fine… but they need to go to make room for the new ones. You have to do what’s best for the 🪴
