The difference between these two dwellings is astounding. The house on the bottom is a replica of shacks seen throughout the developing world; usually built with unsafe, found scrap materials. The house on the top is a sustainable alternative. Built with sandbags, it is sturdy, cheap and quick to build. On the left is a rain catchment tank which provides clean drinking water. On the right is a barrel-ponics gardening system to provide fresh organic vegetables. Simple sustainable alternatives can revolutionize the quality of life throughout the global community.
