“André Leon Talley: Style is Forever” is one of the most well-executed fashion exhibitions in recent memory!
Among the festivities was an award ceremony celebrating Pharrell Williams () as this year’s recipient of the André Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award - presented by The Dream () and the extraordinary visionary, SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace () - at the Atlanta campus of SCAD () and a preview of the exhibition at SCADFASH ().

“Designed as a tribute to the legacy of fashion icon Patrick Kelly, whose revolutionary approach to fashion in the 1980s redefined the industry’s relationship with joy, color, and identity, this shoe juxtaposes the bold, athletic silhouette of the Air Force 1 with Kelly’s signature use of exaggerated, cartoonish forms of the Golliwog and its nods to African American folklore. Patrick Kelly passed away from complications of AIDS on January 1, 1990.”
