My most favorite acronym; W.W.J.D. I am not a highly religious person. However, no matter what the faith, I find it a good litmus test.

"You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

I have a responsibility to love you. I have a responsibility to love myself. Loving you doesn't mean I have to like everything you do. Loving you doesn't mean I have to co-sign whatever you do. My inability or unwillingness to meet all of your needs does not mean you are not loved by me. It does not mean you do not matter. There are times when I need to value my own needs.

Loving myself means I am enough. Loving myself means I am worthy of being loved. Loving myself means I can give and deserve respect and compassion. Loving myself allows me to have self-compassion.

My unwillingness to love you is because of MY personal judgments, fears or unhealed wounds. People do not fall out of love with each other. They stop being loving toward each other.
