Future history books will detail how Americans traded a free, yet messy political system, for a chaotic, divisive, police state.
The key to the demise of the American democracy experiment will be loyalty to a political party over the nation by the Congress and the Supreme Court, two of the branches of government designed to check un challenged power by the the 3rd branch. There is plenty of historic examples of this phenomenon, yet it still plays out in societies that refuse to pay attention.
