Not really a case study than an observation. I love it when a prospective client tells me that they are spending too much money with me to buy our services of a complete Content Management System and hosting for $499 + $55 dollars per month for a total of $1159 for the first year and $660 for subsequent years.

The first thing I do is recognize there reluctance to spend so much money on a product designed to bring them customers. The second thing do is ask how much profit do you make on each product or sale? Usually I get an answer between $300 and $1500 per sale, (lets be conservative and use $450 in this case), so then I immediately ask that if my product brings you say,(again we will be conservative), my product brings you 3 sales then you would agree that I would have paid for itself right? Usually I can an agreement that It would, the next part simple.

In stead of arguing and waiting for a price let us do business now. The sooner your up and running the more sales you will have, that simple. first month 2 sales second month 4 sales the sixth month 8 sales..... no really do the math in six months you have sold between 14 and 18 new customers.

So basically you have 12 -14 additional sales for the addition of our services. Now I thing you would all agree that its worth it.
