Vista Pointe ES opens up for their first 1st day of school. Staff is ready to welcome students..

OCPS parents and students, thank you for your patience and understanding as we begin a year like no other. We want to also thank our amazing teachers, support staff, principals and administrators for their hard work and dedication today. Together, we worked through some glitches and while it wasn’t perfect, it was a good start and we all strive to do better every single day.

Here are today’s numbers:
- 756,000 launches of Canvas today. The vendor continues to monitor and adjust servers to accommodate our student population.
- 253,000 LaunchPad logins
- 174,966 OCPS Microsoft Teams logins
- 24,105 Big Blue Button Sessions with 321,769 users

We’ll reiterate the general troubleshooting tips that were shared over the weekend, as well:
A) Turn the device off, wait 60 seconds and then restart it.
B) Pause, and then try the connection again after a few minutes.
C) Call or email your school know you are having a problem so they can log all concerns.

Above all, please help alleviate any anxiety your child may feel about tech glitches, and reassure them that there are no penalties for not being able to log on. It will smooth out as we go and your teachers, school staff and principals are all there to help!

FLORIDA SCHOOLS TO REMAIN CLOSED REST OF YEAR
Governor DeSantis and the Florida Department of Education have recommended the closure of all schools in Florida and a continuation of distance learning through the end of the school year. Orange Technical College campuses and off-site locations are also closed.
