It feels great to be back in the kitchen! Cooking takes a lot of skill and I’m happy to say that I’m able to do it while having a disability. Anyone who looks down on you for having dyslexia or any other form of disability is not someone who should be a leader. Thank you and I’m looking forward to sharing more amazing recipes with everyone!!!🥰

As we near the end of February where we celebrate those we love, I have to show gratitude for my amazing friend, Jessica! We have been friends since high school after meeting at a church event. From attending concerts of our favorite artists to fun college parties, I can still remember us laughing endlessly. I also remember the many tears we’ve shared through our various journeys.

I want to say that I’m so grateful for you and our friendship. It’s not loud, just calm and still. I’m also proud of the amazing mother you have become! Thank you for being you and teaching me that strength can come during the calm also. Love you, Jess! ❤️

Much love,
Carli 🥰

Happy Sunday! On social media I strive to always post uplifting content and stay away from issues that could upset others. However, what’s happening in our country has come to my breaking point and I need to address this.

As a Christian, I want to be clear that Christianity does not belong to a specific political party contrary to others opinions. I was raised to love everyone, make my own decisions, and be the person that I want to be. Anyone who spews hatred of another race, celebrates when others are harmed, and/or conceals information that could be detrimental to our society should really consider their values and look inward.🙏🏾

As a former college professor, I’ve seen firsthand the growing attack on our education system. Students deserve the freedom to study what they’re passionate about, and professors deserve the freedom to teach. The mass exodus of educators is heartbreaking, and the long-term consequences will be unfortunate. The fact we still have campaigns saying to pay teachers more is insane and our society needs to step up. 🤏🏾

Everyone should pay attention to what’s happening in our government and remember that you have a voice. For those of us that studied history, we know that America has a rocky past but don’t forget the good that also came from our country. While we cannot control the past, we can definitely decide how to spend our present and future. You can vote for change. 🙌🏾

In honor of Black History Month, I encourage you to research at least 3 new people of color that you never learned about. You’d be amazed how much of the technology, medicine, and everyday products we use today came from Black innovators. 🥰

If this post makes you uncomfortable, that’s okay because I’ll always stand in my truth and on the right side of history. Sending love to everyone this Valentine’s week! ❤️

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! I’m so excited to see Bad Bunny perform!

Mucho amor,
Carli 💕
