Upbeat Mortality

It’s been a crazy busy few months and I’ve been absent. The holidays. My day job’s busiest time of year. Life. But this past Sunday, I was inspired to paint.

Sunday would have been our sweet Sophie pup’s birthday. She contracted a very aggressive cancer in October and we said goodbye to her just before Christmas. I have missed her so much.

As our youngest doggie, she had the most energy and was our #1 goofball. She was the very best cuddler and quickest food snatcher. Soph was full of s***k and she was happy. She is etched on my soul.

I picked colors and painted for her on Sunday. I wanted to show how another beautiful life can touch our own, in all its vibrancy through the seasons of life. The sparks that make life special and the warmth that keeps us close.
