Feels really gross that some art events - that I've already paid booth fees to - are using AI flyers to promote supporting local artists

And I don't feel like I can call them out

I fear the request to make free art, as I don't have time with the ridiculous hours I work running my own small business

I fear calling attention to boycott, since that just means folks will not show up to support the actual artists vending at these events

I fear my own livelihood

Why don't people understand the impact this AI generative bu****it has, not only on the planet, but their own small business? AI anything just shows that you don't support humans, so why do you expect humans to come support you???

It just fu***ng sucks

Maybe they should offer free booth spaces to artists who want to design a flyer?

Maybe they don't realize the impact so we need to keep having this conversation?

When it's an event I've already paid to be at, and if I cancel I make zero income for the week? That's when I just do my best, and f**k the rest...

It's really just a few fascists trying to take advantage of literally billions of us, which means change is inevitable

I think that's why protests really matter

It's where we feel seen - and see each other - and realize just how much power we collectively hold

We are stronger together

Also, for my Portland people, today is my second weekend ever at watching the protest march past my booth last week + cherry blossoms 🌸 falling from the sky was such an inspiration
