Marley, one of our abroad Phis, shares how amazing her adventures have been!
“Words can’t explain how incredible being abroad has been. I sailed with Semester at Sea in Spring 2020 but it ended early due to Covid. To have a second opportunity to travel the world brings me an overwhelming feeling of gratitude. I am so lucky to be here!
Out of the eight countries I have traveled to so far, Croatia and Jordan have been my favorite. However, every country is unique and provides me with new knowledge and experiences.
Being abroad also reminds me how grateful I am for the women in Alpha Phi because they give me something to look forward to when I come home.
The world has so much to offer, I encourage everyone who is able to go out and explore it!”

“Quite frankly, I never anticipated going through recruitment or contemplated joining Greek Life. Although, as the first semester of my freshman year progressed, I grew deeply interested in being a part of something bigger than myself–– To me, this meant finding a strong, ambitious, compassionate, intelligent, & diverse collective of individuals that would allow & honor me to be my authentic, sincere self while also inspiring and challenging me to become the best version of myself. Though I wasn’t 100% sure if Greek Life was for me, I decided to relinquish expectations, cultivate sincere intentions, and ultimately take a leap of faith. Little did I know that this leap of faith and signing up for formal recruitment would be one of the most formative and fruitful experiences. I remember going through sorority recruitment my freshman year, completely awestruck by the active members of Alpha Phi, as I deeply craved to become all that each member so earnestly demonstrated. I found a home in Alpha Phi, and it has given me life-long friends that feel like family, opportunities to connect & give back to the community, leadership experiences, and encouragement to flourish in ways in I never imagined. The members of this chapter saw something in me that I had not yet seen within myself. I can never put all of my admiration and adoration into proper words to convey all of my love & thanks for a collective that has so greatly impacted me. I am overwhelmed with inspiration and gratitude every day that I get to be a part of a chapter comprised of such vibrant and incredible humans. I found my home in Alpha Phi, and I encourage you to take a leap of faith & find yours this January!”
